Where the Cretan Mountains Tell Stories - Authentic Culture and Culinary Tour

With Cretantour, we take you into the Cretan mountains, where ancient olive trees guard the land and a new story waits around every corner. We visit a small village proud of its roots. There, you will get a genuine insight into traditional Cretan life: you can get hands-on by shaping pastries or watching and helping with cheese making. Between old looms and the scent of freshly baked bread, you will feel the unique atmosphere that makes this tour so special. In a small museum, you will learn how much patience and passion go into traditional craftsmanship. To finish, a cozy taverna awaits us, where we enjoy Cretan specialties. This tour with Cretantour is not a staged experience but a real, heartfelt day full of culture, cuisine, and warm encounters in the heart of the Cretan mountains.
What's included in the price?
Our tours are designed to be completely carefree - you don’t have to worry about a thing.
Pick-up and drop-off from your accommodation is included in the price (within our service area around Ammoudara Heraklion - from Fodele to Chersonissos). Is your hotel outside this area? No problem! We also offer a separate transfer service for more distant regions. The flat fee depends on the location. Just get in touch with us - we’ll find a solution.
During the drive, you’ll have access to chilled water and a selection of soft drinks - a refreshing way to start your tour.
One of the highlights of our daily tours is the shared, generous lunch. You'll enjoy a wide variety of delicious local dishes. If you prefer a vegetarian or vegan menu, or if you have any allergies, please let us know in advance - we’ll be happy to accommodate your needs.
All drinks during the meal - including beer and wine - are included in the price.
Depending on the tour, entrance fees to museums and attractions may also be included. If any additional costs arise (for example, due to special requests), we will inform you in advance.
Families are very welcome:
Children up to and including 4 years of age join the tour for free. For their safety, we provide suitable child seats.
Children aged 5 to 12 receive a 50% discount on the regular tour price.
